Announcing Elastic Stack Essentials

You asked. We delivered! Our first Elastic course, Elastic Stack Essentials, is now live!

The Elastic Stack Essentials course will introduce students to the many services that make up the Elastic Stack including Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Beats, and X-Pack. We will talk about the purpose and features of each service and familiarize ourselves with their terms and concepts. We will even talk about Elastic’s hosting options whether it be bare metal, Elastic Cloud, or Elastic Enterprise.

Next, we take the core Elastic Stack services and create a log aggregation pipeline for web access logs. We will use Filebeat to collect and ship web access logs, Logstash to parse and enrich our log events, Elasticsearch to index our events as documents into a multi-node cluster with data-replication, and Kibana to search, visualize, and dashboard our documents to gain insights and ask ad-hoc questions.

This is a beginner level course, but you will want to have a good understanding of the Linux shell and Linux system administration. So come learn about Elastic Stack with in-depth video lessons and then test your knowledge with quizzes! Once you have a good understanding of the stack, build your own to collect, ship, store, and search system message and authorization logs with a live hands-on environment!
