Fusing wonderlands with reality, Aichi Prefecture is building a Studio Ghibli-inspired amusement park for fans of Hayao Miyazaki’s world.

Ghibli Park will be situated in Nagakute City, near Nagoya. Since it’s the holding spot of the 2005 World Fair, a replica of the My Neighbor Totoro house already exists in the area.

Aichi Prefecture has recently released initial blueprints of the upcoming 200-hectare theme park—in Ghibli-style iterations, of course.

As you walk in, you’ll be greeted by a building in the likeness of Howl’s Moving Castle. Standing from the balcony of a life-sized replica of the antique shop in Whisper of the Heart, you’ll be able to take in sweeping views of the dreamland.

Per television broadcaster Tokai TV, there’ll also be a house based on the home of ‘Kiki’ in Kiki’s Delivery Service.

Two other illustrations depict a climbable giant “spider” and a teacup ride with motifs from Kiki’s Delivery Service.

Ghibli Park is slated to open its doors in 2022. Meanwhile, check out the concept artworks below.
