Instagram Is Testing A Mute Button, Video Calling, And More New Features

Twitter user @wongmjane, a computer science student, has been scrutinizing Instagram’s code, and tweeted out a series of tests the social network is supposedly conducting at the moment.

Although the network has not confirmed if it will be rolling out any of the features, these glimpses will thrill Instagram users with more control over how they use the app.

Here are some of the features mentioned in the tweet:

Mute Users

NEW: Instagram is finally working on a mute button for profiles!

This is likely to be similar to Twitter’s mute button. It gives you the ability to mute some of your friends on your feed without unfollowing them.

Reactions To Stories

Instagram users can react in real time and use emojis in responses, similar to stickers in iMessage.

Video-Calling Feature

Instagram might get a new video calling feature, which is currently available in Snapchat. Though there are not many details around it, expect the feature to be available for users who follow each other.
