On Monday, lifestyle magazine Cosmopolitan welcomed a new, eye-popping look on its website to appeal to cheekier, modern readers.

The new site boasts a cleaner layout, refreshed typefaces, and bolder graphics that are punctuated with animations.

For one, Cosmopolitan has swapped its serif headlines for sans-serifs, and its ‘Mundo Sans’ body typeface for ‘Prumo Slab’. It has also lightened its masthead to a trendier Millennial pink, as opposed to its iconic hot pink hue.

“You’re also looking at a totally refreshed site, made over from top to bottom in crisp colors, bold designs, and a new attitude,” wrote digital director Jessica Piels.

Piels explained that the fresher aesthetic is the first step behind Cosmopolitan’s redirection to covering more “ambitious” stories. “But first, we wanted to set the stage. And to make it pretty.”

The “clean, modern, feminine, cheeky” personality is also poised for rollout to the rest of the magazine’s online presence, such as its and Snapchat Discover channels.
