Instagram Now Allows Feed Posts To Be Shared On Your Stories
Have you seen something interesting on your Instagram feed and wished you could easily share it with friends and followers through its Stories tool?
Now you can. Instagram just announced its latest tweak that allows you to easily broadcast interesting posts from public accounts to your Stories.
To share the feed post, simply:
1) Tap on the airplane icon directly below the post
2) Select the first option that says, ‘Create a story with this post’ to see it appear as a sticker inside Stories
3) Customize the post inside Stories, such as rotating, scaling or moving the sticker, and tap on it to access other styles
All feed posts shared to your Stories will feature the original poster’s Instagram handle. If you see an interesting post in someone’s story, tap on it to be directed to the original post.
Only feed posts from public accounts can be shared to Stories. If you have a public account but do not want your posts to be shared to Stories by other people, just opt out in Settings.
This announcement could make the sharing of retail items more seamless for users, which could complement Instagram’s plans to potentially enable designers to sell their products through its platform, directly to their followers.
If Instagram does expand to include retail purchases, users might find themselves spending even more time on the app—something Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom says the company doesn’t fully support. Systrom personally confirmed the app’s upcoming ‘Usage Insights’ feature to help curb people’s less-than-positive, obsessive browsing on the network.
