Most Popular Royal Wedding Instagram Post Is By Someone You Likely Didn’t Expect
Considering all the excitement and buzz surrounding the union of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, as well as the beloved Givenchy wedding gown worn by the bride, one might expect that the most popular Royal Wedding Instagram post would have been found on either the official Kensington Royal account, or perhaps that of luxury fashion house Givenchy.
If you guessed either, you’re in for a surprise.
While Kensington Royal has garnered a whopping 2.1 million ‘likes’ for the couple’s black-and-white photo, captured after the carriage procession and released together with the first official Royal Family portrait, another post has surpassed this by a cool 1.5 million ‘likes’ on the social network.
The most popular Royal Wedding Instagram post goes to none other than the trio of photos below, uploaded through an Instagram album by football star David Beckham—one of the attendees who stole the show with his dapper outfit—that has raked in 3.6 million ‘likes’ at time of writing.
“What a proud day for our country today! Watching Harry as happy as he was makes us all proud of the man and person he has always been…what a day!” wrote Beckham in the caption. The initial couple shot is followed by images of a younger Prince Harry inside the Instagram album.
For those keen on Markle’s gown, here’s a PSA that Nordstrom has rolled out a similar version at a hundredth of the price.
