Serena Williams’ New Clothing Line Gives You A Fusion Of Balmain & Juicy Couture

Tennis player Serena Williams is not missing a beat when it comes to her life on and off the court.

Williams has just launched her first clothing line dubbed ‘Serena’. She took to Instagram to share some of her pieces from the line, which includes leisurewear and denim pieces.

Williams said that she has always loved tennis and fashion, therefore she needed to find a way to make them coexist.

She explained to Instyle that she was obsessed with Juicy Couture while growing up, and this has become the inspiration behind her tracksuits.

Apart from athleisure pieces, her clothing line also offers office-ready staples with sharp-shouldered blazers. Williams expressed her love for shoulder pads, and has incorporated one into her collection to get a “real structured, Balmain look.”

Her 12-piece curated collection includes pieces such as joggers, crop tops, and t-shirts ranging from US$35 and US$250. Williams hopes that women can express creativity and individuality through her garments.

They say life is about timing. I learned this lesson at age 18, when I chose to play a light tennis schedule because I wanted to go to fashion school. Some criticized my decision, but I knew I had two loves–tennis and fashion–and had to find a way to make them coexist. After 15 years of false starts, and people in fashion telling me "no," it only only drove me to work harder. As a result, I discovered what it meant to invest in myself, and I allowed that belief in myself to drive me to reach my dream. Today, I am proud to launch @serena , my own online shop. Never stop believing in yourself, you're worth it. #BeSeenBeHeard
