Reese’s Sends Package To Sad Fan Who Finds Out Reese’s Cup Has No Peanut Butter

Reese’s fan Alex Hentges bought its ‘Peanut Butter Cup’ back in April only to find, in what seems to be an unfortunate error by its factories, that the chocolate was missing its main ingredient: peanut butter.

Hentges took to Reddit to express his disappointment. He told Insider that he had thought the cups seemed slightly odd, prior to removing the chocolate from its packaging.

He said that this particular chocolate “wasn’t squishy” enough, and to his disappointment, found that it was missing the peanut butter when he broke it in half.

Hentges added that a total of six cups were missing the peanut butter filling. He subsequently took to Facebook to share the unfortunate incident with the caption, “Yo Reese’s what gives? Where’s me peanut butter? April Fools was almost 2 weeks ago!”

Hentges clarified that he was genuinely not seeking any monetary compensation, but found the whole situation amusing and decided to post it on Resse’s Facebook page as a joke.

Reese’s responded to Hentges and followed up by sending coupons to him. The chocolate brand then went a step further to surprise him with a generous care package together with a note that read, “Sometimes we like to remind people that you need both chocolate AND peanut butter, together, to have the perfect candy. This was one of those times. And you were the unlucky person. Now that we made our point, here’s enough chocolate AND peanut butter to make everything cool between us.”
