A mini Chanel bag that made its debut a decade ago has left social media users floored after model and reality star Kendall Jenner posted an Instagram Story of the item being strapped to her ankle.
The quilted purse first made its appearance on the fashion house’s Spring 2008 showcase, but has been brought back for a short reissue by luxury reseller The RealReal for “just under US$900,” according to Harper’s Bazaar. Jenner seemed to have snapped up one of the few remaining bags from the site.
Since the carry-all—if you can even call it that—measures at just 3 by 3.5 inches, you can imagine it’ll take up a bit of your morning to prioritize the one miniscule item to bring with you that day. What can it even hold, though? Per Jenner’s caption, “It only fits joy.”
It looks like the puny bag can carry at least one other joke, as well. Some internet users are likening it to an ankle monitor.
“Thought she’d been arrested with a tag on,” teased Twitter user Benjamin McGuinness.
Can’t bring yourself to fork out US$900 for what could be the smallest Chanel bag ever? If functionality is your thing, perhaps these iPhone-holding high fashion shoes might suit you better.
Hmm @KendallJenner maybe purses that resemble parole ankle bracelets shouldn’t be fashionable???? pic.twitter.com/rl3vovmIcL
