Edit Typos in Your Tweets Using This Chrome Extension – Info Tips and Tricks

For someone who writes for a living, my Twitter feed has an embarrassing number of typos. I typically notice them the second after I hit post, and am immediately faced with the decision “Do I delete this tweet and pretend it never happened or just roll with the typo?”

This week a new Chrome Extension launched that might potentially make things easier. Called covfefe, after a presumed typo by our President, the extension delays sending out your tweets for 15 seconds, 15 seconds where you can notice you’ve failed miserably and delete or edit your tweet before it actually gets sent out for people to see.

On a basic level, you could get this same effect by just reading through your tweet before you actually press send, but as I have personally proven time and time again to myself, there’s just something different about looking at it post tweet than pre-tweet.

It’s also not the perfect solution. The service currently doesn’t handle retweets very well (it @ messages the person rather than responding within the thread) and in the end you’re really just deleting a tweet before it’s sent rather than editing it afterward. That said, it could save you in a pinch if you’re like me and could use that tiny bit of extra buffer time.
