First Look At ‘BlackBerry Luna’, The Budget Answer To High-End ‘KEY2’ Smartphone

Last month, BlackBerry unveiled the ‘KEY2’, a dual-camera smartphone with a refreshed QWERTY keyboard. Partly due to the high-tech gestures introduced by other big-name phone makers, not everyone would be willing to pay US$650 for this model, despite how satisfying the click-clacking sounds of its keypad might be.
Thankfully for old BlackBerry users, the brand appears to be rolling out a budget version of the smartphone, as evident from a photo shared by renowned insider and VentureBeat reporter Evan Blass.
The model, dubbed ‘BlackBerry Luna’, is described to be a ‘KEY2 Lite’. In place of the high-end smartphone’s durable aluminum, ‘Luna’ has a plastic back.
Blass also mentions that the cheaper variation will come in colorways red, blue, and copper.
It’s also slated to arrive in August or September, which is around the same time Apple is expected to unveil its new array of iPhones. If you’re a fan of both brands and were already intending to get the mid-tier 2018 iPhone, you’ll probably have a bit of thinking to do.
Alleged BlackBerry Luna, a.k.a. the "KEY2 Lite" (Lite and not Mini 'cuz they supposedly have the same form factor). Said/shown to come in red, blue, and copper. pic.twitter.com/fMza9pAAZC
