Aguirre issued two department orders which ordered the reorganization of the NBI’s Cybercrime Division (CCD) and Digital Forensic Laboratory (DFL).
In his order, he named as CCD chief, Head Agent Manuel Eduarte, and Special Agent Alex Bautista as executive officer.
Special Agent Victor Lorenzo has been assigned as chief of the DFL, while Special Agent Christopher Paz was named executive officer.
Agent Edgardo Anonuevo and Special Investigator Jay Salangguste were also named as DFL members.
Earlier, Aguirre ordered the investigation of the CCD and DFL in connection with alleged anomalies over operations conducted over the companies Intellcash International Inc., Datacentric Corporation and Delta Clout.
“This probe is one way to separate the good from the bad. The bad and the undesirable elements must be severed before they infect and taint the careers of the still many good men and women of the NBI,” Aguirre had said.
