Adobe opens a cutting edge new office in London’s Shoreditch | UI
Office design is all about people. It’s about creating a magical environment that maximizes performance and productivity, a centre of collaboration allowing humans to drive ideas and solve problems.
It’s proven that organisations fostering a positive culture in the workplace will have happy and motivated employees that will be more productive and loyal. We want to create an atmosphere people look forward to working in.
The most successful businesses develop environments built for inspiration, collaboration and creativity. They allow employees to generate ideas, provide a voice, ask questions and challenge the status quo. Some ideas will work and some won’t. What’s certain is that we’ll learn by the very act of developing these ideas.
Adobe is also a technology brand with a reputation to uphold. Our office spaces must convey the strength and values of our brand to employees and customers, as we help them create incredible and meaningful digital experiences.
We’re expected to be innovative in what we do, and this innovation extends to our internal layout – we must create attractive, productive environments. This is also important in us winning and retaining the best talent.
In short, we have extremely high standards when it comes to where our employees work. And that’s why we’re delighted to announce a new office space in the heart of London’s Tech City – Shoreditch.
Our new home in London Tech City
The offices are located on the ‘Silicon Roundabout’ in London’s Tech City, a hive of innovation and the third-largest technology cluster in the world after San Francisco and New York City.
Specifically, our new home is in the White Collar Factory, a beautiful and cutting edge development by Derwent London, one of London’s most innovative office specialist property regenerators. Derwent London is well known for its design-led philosophy with sustainability at the heart of every development – a great match for Adobe.
We’ll take up the 7th, 8th and 13th floor of the 16-storey building which boasts high ceilings, abundant natural light and natural ventilation, thanks to concrete core cooling. And, as well as being a healthy place to work on the inside, there is plenty to do to keep fit and active with access to a roof terrace including a 150m running track and plenty of space to park our bicycles.
Our space is open plan, with meeting rooms, social hubs, a library, tech café and a games room. A major feature includes a ‘Customer Experience Centre’ – providing UK and European customers with an environment to experience our technology.
This layout provides a fluid working environment, meant to spur new ideas and unexpected collaborations. Our employees may have an assigned desk or access to quieter individual work spaces, but they’ll also have a variety of group spaces they need to work in a collaborative way.
Of course, we have made sure to include our Adobe creative spirit, with an installation of coloured mirrors that reflects the iconic London skyline, mimicking Adobe Photoshop filters. Plus we commissioned local creativity, with an exclusive ceramic centrepiece designed by East London artist Zachary Eastwood-Bloom.
We are delighted to be in such an exciting and thriving environment in London, and excited to welcome our employees and customers from not just the UK, but the whole world, to our new home.
We’ve also received support from Matt Hancock, the UK Minister of State for Digital and Culture, who said: “I’m delighted Adobe has opened its new office in London and will continue its ongoing investment in the UK. The decision is another vote of confidence in our thriving digital economy that will help support digital transformation across the whole country.”
Opening these new offices does indeed confirm our commitment to the UK and Europe, continuing our mission to inspire creativity in people who want to make a meaningful impact around the world.
