Mercedes-Benz Drops Revealing Sketch Of New GLE | Feature
Mercedes-Benz has published a revealing sketch of the all-new GLE, not long before its global premiere at next month’s Paris Auto Show.
Like all manufacturer sketches of this kind, the image provides us with a reasonable look at the vehicle’s exterior design but the proportions are all out of whack. Fortunately, we do have real life images of the new GLE that show us exactly what the road-going SUV will look like.
Unlike the GLE images we shared with you yesterday, the GLE depicted in this sketch has a different grille that comes complete with two horizontal slats rather than just one. Additionally, the headlights appear slightly more compact than the finished product and there are a pair of roof rails better incorporated into the roof than those shown in other pictures.
Customers should be very pleased with the latest Mercedes SUV.
It’s not just the new GLE’s design which will make it stand out from the existing model.
Mercedes-Benz will introduce a selection of new engines and variants with the latest GLE to widen its appeal and attract more customers. For example, one new GLE version will receive the automaker’s 3.0-liter straight-six engine delivering 362 hp and 368 lb-ft (500 Nm) of torque. This ICE will be paired with an EQ Boost function that adds an additional 22 hp and 184 lb-ft (250 Nm) in short bursts.
Other engines set to be made available will be a 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel sold in two different configurations with power ranging from 282 hp and 442 lb-ft (600 Nm) of torque to 335 hp and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm). A 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with between 563 hp and 603 hp will power the GLE 63 and GLE 63 S models.
