FIFA 19: The Top 100 Player Ratings | Gaming News

Every year, Electronic Arts releases a new FIFA title–FIFA 19 is almost here, in fact–and players rush to see who is rated best-rated player in the game (often, as expected, it lands up being a tossup between Messi and Ronaldo). It is almost as if this is an unofficial award for the best players in the sport. Well, EA recently posted a list of the top 100 players in the upcoming FIFA 19 and, admittedly, players won’t really be surprised about who tops the rankings.

A recent EA Sport blog post revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have the best ratings in the game at a total of 94. Brazilian national Neymar follows thereafter with a rating of 92, whereas FIFA World Cup finalist and Real Madrid player, Luka Modric is in fourth. EA has listed the top 100 players in the game on a blog post on their site (which is accessible right here.)

Interesting to note, this is the first time that Argentine national Lionel Messi and Portuguese national Cristiano Ronaldo have been given the same rating. The two have often been suggested to be the game’s best players in recent years, with both having won an equal amount of Ballon d’Or (or FIFA Player of the Year trophies).

While both players are aging (in terms of European football association years), EA has placed them top of the pack in terms of ratings, with Neymar, and Belgian national Kevin de Bruyne, following close behind at 92 and 91 respectively. Fascinatingly enough, the FIFA series’ biggest rival, Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer series, has also given both Ronaldo and Messi the same rating. However, each series has decided to boost the ratings of one of the two stars (FIFA’s obviously being cover star Ronaldo and PES being Lionel Messi).

With the avidly anticipated FIFA 19 due to come out in the next two weeks, players around the world are eagerly waiting to get their hands on one of EA’s best-selling franchises. Fans of the series are sure to be excited about all the new additions made to the game.

FIFA 19 is due to be released on September 28, 2018 for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
