Setting up L2TP server on Mint – Info Linux

I’d like to set up a L2TP VPN server on my Mint machine so I can tunnel internet traffic from phone. If I had an Android phone I’d just use an SSH tunnel and call it done but I use an iPhone so I need to set up a VPN server.

Problem is I’m finding all these tutorials but I don’t know enough about linux or networking to know if these tutorials fit what I’m trying to do.

All I want to do is be able to connect my iPhone to my Mint machine via L2TP to encrypt internet traffic. Can someone recommend a specific tutorial that would help me do this?
