After an up and down first year, 2 seems to finally be back on track thanks in large part to its recent expansion, Forsaken. While most fans agree that this expansion has breathed new life into the game thanks to all of the updates and new content that was added to the base game, it’s not an experience that’s without flaw. One of the biggest issues with the expansion is the new costs that are required in order to update gear, though in a new interview, it appears Bungie may be looking to correct that.

In an interview with Destiny 2: Forsaken producer, Scott Taylor at Tokyo Game Show 2018, which was later translated into English by Reddit user Zozot3, new insight was provided regarding the continued issues with the infusion system. Before the expansion arrived, players would only need glimmer, Destiny’s in-game currency, and Legendary Shards which were plentiful enough. The expansion inflated the of infusion by also requiring planetary materials as well as the prized Cores. According to the interview, Bungie is aware of the high infusion and it currently working to address the situation in a future update.

The interview also brought a few other tidbits to light as well. In terms of The Dreaming City end-game zone, the destination merchant Petra Venj will continue to show up in new locations, though Bungie won’t be adding additional fast travel points, so players will need to continue running to where they need to go. The Last Wish raid is getting a prestige mode, but Bungie hasn’t decided on a specific release date quite yet. Not only that, the annual Festival of the Lost is making a return this year and players will be seeing more about it in the next couple of weeks.

In terms of game adjustments, Bungie recently made a controversial decision to alter the exotic questline for the Ace of Spades hand cannon. Cayde-6’s famous weapon could be acquired by completing a chain of quests once the Forsaken campaign had wrapped up.

The first task in the multistep quest was to get 5 final hand cannon kills against invading enemies in Gambit, a step which some claimed was too difficult when going up against invaders with power ammo and an overshield. While many in the community don’t agree with the move, Bungie has changed the quest step to make it a bit easier by filling a progression bar with any hand cannon kills in Gambit, be it against AI enemies or other players.

Destiny 2: Forsaken is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
