Hey guys. I’m not completely new to graphic design, got quite some basic knowledge,
but it’s really hard for me to get behind some obviously great designs.
Can anyone explain to me what the designer wants to tell me with word alignment like this?
Is it because it just looks good, does the designer want to resemble some kind of shape by aligning the letters like that, or is it just to lead my eye to the next important element of the poster?
Same for this one. I don’t really get those subtle off-grid alignments. It looks absolutely great, but I don’t get how, or why this works so well.
Also there are heaps of artists, that just copy and paste the same sentence or word 10 times on a Poster like this.
Is there any special meaning behind it, or is it again just to attract my eye, or to just look good?
Hope I don’t overwhelm you with questions, I just absolutely love Typography and Posters in general and don’t have anyone that can teach me about it or answer those questions.
If there are any books that can explain posters like that or how to use Typography in an interesting way, would love to hear about them.
Thanks a lot everyone!
