Assassin’s Creed Odyssey: Ubisoft Suspends Mercenary Live Events Following Delays | Gaming News
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey’s epic mercenary events are being suspended following two consecutive delays of the Damais the Indifferent live event.
The news comes from Ubisoft’s official forums, saying the content didn’t appear for most players, and that a fix is in the works. Ubisoft hopes to properly reintroduce the mercenary live events later this month.
“Two weeks ago, when we attempted to launch the first Epic Mercenary Event with Damais the Indifferent, we discovered that the content didn’t properly appear for a majority of our players,” said Ubisoft community manager Dom. “It wasn’t satisfactory to have an event available to only a portion of our players, so we decided to temporarily remove the Epic Mercenary Events from the game altogether until the issue is resolved. We are working on a fix and are hoping to introduce them later this month.”
Damais the Indifferent was initially delayed in mid-October, only to be delayed once again at the end of that month. The reason for the delay has been consistent, as Ubisoft said last week “We’re working towards a solution to address an issue that prevents the mercenary live events from appearing as soon as we can.”
To make up for the missing mercenary events, Ubisoft says it will activate an epic ship event each week moving forward. As an additional concession, Ubisoft will also “be activating a discount of -80 Orichalcum for the Legendary item that Sargon (Oikos of the Olympians) will sell next week.”
